ideas for new year's resolutions you can keep

With every new year come the list of resolutions...promises that are made with all good intentions and discarded no sooner than the short lived buzz from a couple glasses of midnight Asti Spumante. All that to say, forget the typical 'lose 10 pounds' or 'eat more fruits and vegetables' promises. Why not make New Year's resolutions that you can actually keep throughout the year?

Here are a few suggestions from the Fab Five:
  • In 2011, we resolve to eat more dark chocolate due to it's abundance of anti-oxidants and it's lower fat content than it's cousin, milk or white.
  • In 2011, we resolve to not pick our noses or teeth while driving in the car.
  • 2011 will find us watching more period dramas (you know, a la "Pride and Prejudice" and the like!)
  • In 2011, we resolve to rely on Wikipedia for the answers to everything!
  • In 2011, we resolve to buy prettier sheets and make our beds less often.
  • In 2011, I'm going to read more and watch less TV. (bjune)
  • In 2011, I'm going to flirt more and be less shy. (bjune)
  • In 2011, I'm going to eat more cookies and ice cream because I want to. (bjune)
  • In 2011, we will shop till we drop, online and off, including antiquing!
  • In 2011, we will not sweat the small stuff and trust God more.
