Happy Birthday, Wendy!
She sent me the first letter directed just to me that I ever remember reading. Her home and fabulous purple room was always open to me when my family visited Ohio when I was a child. My freshman year of high school, she always had time for me, even though she was a much more important senior. When we are together, we always laugh -- even if it's through tears. She's part of the reason I moved to Columbus. She has always been there when I've needed her. She isn't afraid to laugh at herself, and always looks for the good in others. Her growth in Christ is always an example to me. She continually demonstrates that we can be clay in The Potter's hands. Her love for and commitment to her husband are inspiring. She makes me want to be better than I am. For all this, and so much more, the occasion of Wendy's birth is a day worth celebrating.
